"IGN: First off, what was the reaction like to 1.2? Did you find a lot of players returned to check out the content? Did more players check out the high level dungeon content or go back and create additional characters to take advantage of the Legacy updates?
Daniel Erickson: Although there were the expected small stumbles that go hand in hand with a content release this large the reaction was extremely positive. We saw a huge uptick in concurrent players as people rushed around to see all that had changed since launch. Legacy was the biggest hit by far and Tython specifically saw a large influx of Sith Pureblood Jedi recruits."
Lol, just lol.

Well for the first day it came out. People started to renew there accounts.. Once they saw it all in the first few hours.. Thats when that "uptick" took a fall off a short cliff..

GW2 wont be released till late summer early fall. Think they only have four pvp maps too. I dont know, still sorta on the fence with gw2 after seeing the crap in gw1 and how arenanet handled that game. It was very clunky and very difficult how they handled things such as pvp and other issues.
I also hear they are going to have 5 talent tree's and 70 talent points, not including other things that can change how you play your character. Making a game over simplistic becomes very boring. Making it over complicated turns it into Eve online.

Large uptick was mostly due to people not getting the memo that rateds weren't actually coming out in 1.2, since they hid it pretty damn well and didn't release the info until about 6 hours before release. It almost seems lawsuit-worthy, if it wasn't only $15/person...

HEY COOL SO RATEDS BREH? mehhh Nope, if not in 1.3 then before which is doubtful. I would presume they would be able to speak about content prior to their new big patch, yet still no mention.
GW2 was indeed very clunky, but they did a really good job of keeping balance (relative to other MMOs). Things which were overpowered were allowed to live for a short time, confirmed to be broken, then fixed. I would assume (though I assumed a lot of things about SWTOR) that GW2 will feel less clunky after all these years of development and learning from their mistakes, but who knows?
I would assume the talent point system won't be overly complicated, GW1's wasn't at all. Besides, cookie cutters always emerge regardless of the number of degrees of freedom in character customization.
GW2 should be sweet, I will almost certainly buy it. No idea on how long I'll play it, though.
