I just applied to the beta.  I've been hearing very good things on the internet, so I'm looking forward to giving it a shot.

Cautiously optimistic. I've watched their dev videos and they've got some good ideas. But there's still a ton we need to know about it. Conventional MMO design for the past 8 or so years has been to take a handful of original ideas and for everything else just copy what has become standard MMO formula. And that's why most MMOs don't do very well.

 

So far original ideas for Wildstar include CC breakouts that are not based on something with a cooldown, having to aim your abilities, and they'll have some type of player housing. That's a nice start but they really need to separate themselves more from the pack if they want to be successful.

 Ahh no, I just checked it out. It does look interesting. Theres still a lot to know about this game. I'm just soooooooo tired of the traditional mmo formula. I'm hoping they really come up with something new.

 Lot of it has to do with the genre itself. It's just dated.
