I think that your rated team should all be running a combat log. One of the ones out there that show everything and parses them all together as a team. They are out there. At least use some Ram doing that instead of videos during the pre-season for now. Until you know what you got as a team.
Being a healer in a rated with you all..hate me if you want..gonna say it..many are taking avoidable AoE damage. Many are fighting on top of each other taking cleave/lightning damage. And some are not using some talents that are imperative for a win. Cleanse, debuffs, etc.
Just saying you can run whatever comp you want. However it would be nice to see real graphs on what could be improved. There is just as much defense skill required in this game as offense. Kind of why i like it.
If we just had a dodge button..it would be epic..lolz

Hots I'd really like to start doing more rateds with you lol.
Until classes are balanced comp>skill. But comp+skill is best. I agree with what morehots said about cleanses. I click away tech effects when I see them, though they're hard to spot at times and I can't do crap about force effects. And I don't think I've ever heard people call out for a cleanse.

Well... You can't win a match with a horrible comp, that's a given, but I think you are overemphasizing the specifics. From what I have seen, your guys comp is very similar to ours.
As far as skill goes, I'd like to believe the people playing at the top level are close enough, that individual skill won't be the reason for a win or loss. Meaning, you won't see one person go right and solo the guy there quick enough to cap before reinforcements come.
What I think is far more meaningful is the strat, or countering a strat. Best example I can think of is in that huttball yesterday. I got at least 2 scores from being passed the ball up in the middle of your base. No one even attempted to get me off. Another score came from me leaping to one of your teammates when I was at the bottom.
In anycase, if comp is superior then feel free to get a better one.
The one we roll with consists of the first 5 dps we get on.

It's more an issue of player checkup at this point I believe. We have 2-4 exceptional players and then 4 average joes. I'm not dealing with that anymore.
They need to remove multiple of the same classes in ranked matches. That alone will solve many problems. I have seen teams stacking multiple PTs and let's just say when they get on a target, it will not survive.
I don't know if I agree with this. As cheesy as some comps are currently setting up to be (2+ Guardians or 2+ VGs), I think sometimes it MAY be original to have more than one of the same class. My tick on this is that right now it's almost absolutely neccessary to have more than one guardian or VG for DPS spots.
Edit: 1 Guardian on DPS/ Guardian on Tank. (I meant!)

Skill > Comp every time in my book, as long as gear is on semi-equal footing. I would wager that the 'best' teams could walk in with 8 dirty fighting scoundrels and beat mediocre teams all day long.

I can't agree with this at all. Sure, Focus Guardians will wreck your day if they're wandering your backline unhampered, but they're so incredibly shut down by just a simple snare that it's hard to believe that they're a cornerstone to victory. VG's I could see a little more, but I'd still maintain that a team with 2 "good" VG's would get rolled by a team with 2 GREAT Gunslingers or even Mercs, if all else were equal.

I dunno about Smash Guardians but apparently you have not ran into a pt-stacked team yet. No class makeup in this game can counter it. People will always go for the best possible make up... and skill does matter to an extent, but when everyone is on even ground, the veil of class balance is suddenly lifted.

Ah, thought you were meaning the gimmicky double focus comp.
In that case, meh, I can live with a team with 2 GREAT Shadows would roll a team with 2 "good" Guardians all day long.
Bottom line, Skill is the most important factor in determining who wins a rated game. It's 8v8, unless they have some stupid gimmick comp or a heavy direct counter (lots of slingers/scoundrels vs. a lot of knights, for example), losing usually means getting outplayed.

PTs get countered by tankasins, fairly certain of that. If you really want to counter a PT/Vang heavy team, get two tankasins and put them on perma-peel duty. Peeling a PT/Vang is pretty easy since they have no true gap closer. Running more than 2 of anything is never a good idea, even if said class is overpowered. I would like to see a team of 8 snipers in huttball camping mid though. Or 8 Carnage marauders.
